Lately in Reno, I have been dying from the heat. With temperatures reaching the hundreds, being outside is almost unbearable unless spent outside by the pool. Other than that you can find me lounging inside with the AC on full blast. Not exaggerating when saying full blast. Definitely trying to avoid getting heat stroke!
For the time I am outside, I stay hydrated by drinking tons of water. But as everyone can say, water can get boring. So I add some refreshers to the mix. Now there are obviously different kinds of drinks you can make but I like to stick to the lighter and fruitier side. You know, to keep the summer vibe flowing! Not only are these drinks refreshing and great for poolside activities, they are really healthy for you! They have a double purpose. One purpose is to refresh and the other purpose is to detox! Killing two birds with one stone here.
Here is a list below of simple recipes you can use to beat the heat!
- 2 cups of ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon green coffee extract
- 1-4 tablespoons hibiscus simple syrup to taste
- 2 tablespoons freeze-dried berries
- 2 cups water
Grab all the ingredients and mix!
Green Tea Lemonade:
Brew some green tea and simply mix with lemonade and add ice!
Enjoy and stay cool!
